The Lakeside Mall has become a major attraction and destination in the East Rand. The site is strategically located on the southern shore of the Benoni Civic Lake and bounded on the southern side by the Benoni Public Library and Civic complex. With 56 000 m² of GLA, the regional centre includes a waterfront leisure area and a large entertainment complex which was completed in April 1999.
